JOB OPPORTUNITY
Account Executive – The Bone 107.7

KSAN, The Bone 107.7, is hiring!  This is your chance to be part of The Bay Area’s Rock Station.

The Bone 107.7 is a well known brand in Bay Area Radio, which means clients are eager to advertise with us.  We produce community events all through the year – the Bone-A-Thon in support of Children’s Hospital Oakland; Bone Home Town live broadcasts in partnership with cities, charities, and businesses to highlight our listeners’ local communities; and our annual Bone Rock Girl contest.  These events provide our clients multiple ways to reach our listeners on the air, on the station website, through our web streaming, and through these live events.

We’re looking to hire a dynamic Account Executive for outside sales to sell air time, station events, station website, and our streaming web broadcast.  Candidates must have the ability to develop new business, make face-to-face sales calls, manage account lists, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and sales goals, and deal effectively with other station departments.

Professional training will be provided immediately to include prospecting, cold calling, sales presentations, negotiating and closing skills, media knowledge, event and web sales, and coverage of topics such as agency strategy and client level selling.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least 1 - 2 years of outside sales experience.
  • Business, Marketing, or Broadcasting degree preferable.
  • Computer knowledge, Word, Excel, required; Tapscan a plus.
  • Must own a personal car.

Business Department Intern, Cumulus Media Partners, San Francisco, CA

Cumulus San Francisco is home to four of the Bay Area's favorite radio stations - KFOG, KNBR, KTCT, and KSAN (107.7 The Bone).  Our award-winning stations feature World Class Rock on KFOG; Classic Rock on The Bone; and the best sports coverage and live broadcasts of the Giants, the 49ers, the Warriors, and the Saber Cats on KNBR, The Sports Leader, and KTCT.

Broadcasting from our offices in downtown San Francisco, with great views of the bay and the bridge, we offer an informal, yet business-oriented, environment for the pursuit of musical and professional excellence.

We're looking for a Business Department Intern for an internship for college credit. While this is an unpaid position, we will work with your school so that you receive college credit for the internship. If you believe you're the right person for this job, please follow the resume submission instructions at the end of this posting.

In this position, you’ll work with our Business Department (Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources) to learn more about the business side of the media industry. This won’t just be filing and stuffing envelopes (although there will be some of that – we all have to do that part).

With the Finance and Accounting departments, you’ll work with A/R and A/P to learn what it takes to keep money coming in faster than it goes out; how to juggle the competing demands of advertisers, sales staff, and the unbending constraints of a 24 hour clock; and gain an understanding of compliance with myriad regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the FCC.

With our Human Resources department, you’ll discover the challenges of navigating three sets of employment laws (federal, state, and local); what it takes to make sure everyone is paid correctly and on time; how to manage benefits so that everyone who’s supposed to be covered actually is; and the diplomacy required to manage 160 people with differing personalities, opinions, and musical preferences.

This position requires the following:

  • Must be a currently enrolled college student.
  • Must have a GPA of C or above.
  • Course of study in communications/broadcasting or business administration is preferred.
  • Must have good communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Must have excellent office and computer skills.
  • Must have flexible hours and be able to work four to eight hours per week, with occasional extra hours.

Sound good to you?  Great! Send us your resume and a cover letter letting us know why you’re the perfect Business Department intern.
